Tonight was a really fun night. It was the first chance they gave me this summer to speak to the high school ministry. I must admit, I was a little nervous before. I have never before spoken to 400 teens before. The cool thing is, as soon as I got on stage, it all went away.
The series we are in is called MADE, and tonight I got to speak about “authentic faith.” In a nutshell, I was able to share a little bit of my story, and how I was molded by different things and people. I shared how I was molded by the desire to fit in, I shared how I was molded by girls, and how I was even molded by my family, and that still not being good enough.
The main text that I shared was Isaiah 64:8 that says; “8 Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”
Let’s face it, we have all been molded by various influences, and none of them will ever be able to sculpt us in to what the Master Potter can.
My joy of speaking has only been reinforced tonight. I really hope I get the opportunity to do it again soon. Shortly I should be throwing up some videos of my latest messages, so keep your eyes out, and if you have a speaking opportunity that you need someone for, be sure to check out my contact page!
And while we’re on the subject, I thought I would share some pictures of a date I took Melissa on last week. We actually went to a pottery place and got some lessons and threw some clay, check them out!
