I must admit, I’m a pretty big fan of the 4 day weekend… well kind of 4 day weekend.
In my journey to see as much of the area as possible, a couple of friends and I thought it would be fun to take a weekend trip to Cali! Another intern, Jeri and her fiance’ of 3 weeks, Mike kept Melissa and me company as we headed out to Huntington Beach, California.

I was scared to head out there knowing I probably wouldn’t want to come back to Phoenix where it was 109 degrees today and is still 102 at 10:30 at night.
It was the perfect weather. It was about 80 degrees with a light breeze. There was a ton of little shops, a ton of palm trees and a whole lot of people out on the beach. The cool thing about Huntington is that it is also known as “Surf City” for its great swells and large amount of year long surfers. I must admit, I wouldn’t mind grabbing a board and heading out to sea right after a long day of work.

So we stayed at a pretty nice Marriot Hotel just a couple of minutes away, but before we went to bed we had an awesome dinner at the Macaroni Grill! We had to come home Saturday so that Meliss could get back to teach for the 4-6th grade classes. Sunday all I had to do was hit the pool for a little while, then of course head to youth group then played a little basketball.
I know what you are thinking. What a tough life. But hey, the best part of it is, I still have another full day of relaxation! I think I will take it to get a little work done. Anyway, I figured I would post one more time before we leave for C.I.Y this week. I’ll shoot you guys some photos from that when I get back.
